Customization
Why use an inventory system that does not adapt to your workflow? IMS can assist you in identifying and implementing customizations for your BSI database. In BSI your database structure, data validation checks, reports, and even workflow processes are adapted to fit your requirements.
See how BSI compares to Custom or COTS software.
Here are some examples on how BSI can be tailored for you:
Fields
A BSI database can be created with any number of data fields that you need to track. These fields can be of almost any type and have diverse properties associated with them. For example, we can define default values, data normalization, categorical values, and much more.
Validation Checks
Data validation checks can be created in order to ensure that your data integrity is preserved. These tailored validation checks can be written on three levels to guarantee that each of your data fields contains a valid value, does not conflict with other data for that specimen, and does not violate the referential integrity of the database. In addition, validation checks can be customized by study, protocol, or material type.
Reports
You already know that BSI provides users with a large selection of predefined standard and module-specific reports. However, did you know that IMS will work with you to adapt these reports to meet your needs? We can also work with you to create new customized reports specific to your reporting requirements. We can schedule these reports to execute from the client, from the Web interface, or to run automatically based on a pre-defined criterion.
Requisition Tasks
BSI currently tracks an extensive list of standard tasks that can be preformed on specimens including aliquot, relabel, ship, return to inventory, etc. IMS can also work with you to add new customized tasks to track your specific work processes.
Customization of your BSI database does not end with the initial set up!
IMS can work with you at any point to adapt BSI or develop new features as your workflow changes.
